A Guide to the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI)

International Concrete Repair Institute

Founded: 1988
Headquarters: Rosemont, Illinois

The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) is a professional association of concrete repair contractors dedicated to improving the quality of work performed throughout the industry. The group was founded in 1988 in Naperville, Illinois, as the International Association of Concrete Repair Specialists.

The first meeting was largely a response to the increasing number of unqualified and poorly trained individuals working as in the repair industry. The name of the group was later changed to the International Concrete Repair Institute to better represent its diverse membership. They now work to establish industry wide standards and best practices for concrete repair work, concrete protection, and concrete restoration.

What does the ICRI do?

- Establishes best practices and technical guidelines for concrete repair

- Helps set industry-wide standards

- Encourages the exchange of knowledge between professionals

- Educates consumers in need of concrete repair services

- Supports research and product development

- Organizes the regional chapters of the national organizations
