What is Concrete?
Concrete is a durable and versatile construction material. Concrete is made by mixing cement, water, and some aggregate material. The aggregate may include a combination of sand, gravel, crushed rock, or stone.
Wet concrete is spread or poured directly onto the desired surface or into a mold. With time, this mixture hardens and cures into a material that is similar to rock or stone.
For additional strength and durability, concrete can reinforced with steel bars (also known as rebar) or wire mesh. Take a look at the ProMatcher Concrete Cost Report to find out how much your project will cost.
Concrete is made of:

Is cement the same thing as concrete?
Although the terms “cement” and “concrete” are often used interchangeably, they are not the same thing. Cement is one of the main components of ready mix concrete. Cement is actually a mineral powder that contains limestone, calcium, and other minerals. It is a key ingredient in the chemical reaction that allows concrete to harden and cure.
